Lumpies of Lotis IV is a first-person RPG game which was provided as BASIC code in Compute! magazine. Authored by John & Jeff Klein, this CGA game could be obtained for free by anyone with enough determination and patience to type in the code provided in the magazine. (This version has been compiled by someone into an .EXE file.) The game itself is rather ... uh, basic ... but there are mazes to navigate, enemies to battle, and weapons to collect. I'm not sure exactly how to play this game successfully, since the enemies tend to drain your health with each battle and I'm not sure how to progress too far. But it's definitely a charming little game. If you're interested the game was published in Compute! issue 77, October 1986, which is viewable at archive.org.
