Dim Esquire looks like it would be a promising game, along the lines of possibly Another World / Out of This World, but the controls and gameplay are a bit difficult to get used to. (Not sure why I thought of Another World, this game isn't much like it at all. Sorry about that.) Anyways the story involves a satanic wizard losing his head, but it doesn't seem to matter much since in the game you'll be using your boomerangs, grappling hook, and wonky movement to get through danger-filled levels. I personally only got to the man-eating plants before giving up (one-hit death sends you back to the beginning) but maybe you'll have better skills and/or patience. (Also I wasn't able to get Adlib sound working in DOSBox despite following the instructions in the docs.)
