Breakout is 2024 a modern remake of the Atari classic ball & paddle block-breaking game, originally released in 1976 in arcades. Although more people may be familiar with the Atari 2600 home version, this DOS remake clones the arcade version of the game. Your goal is to clear all of the blocks from the screen by hitting them with the ball. There are no powerups, enemies, or other modern additions. There is also no mouse control so you'll need to use the keyboard, but the ball does bounce off the paddle with a different angle depending where it's hit, so it has that going for it. Overall a decent clone of the Atari classic arcade game. Source code is included and also available via the official Github repo; it was coded using Turbo C++.
