Chess-like game

Post by Hutch »

Hello, I'm looking for an old dos game. In this game there were lots of mythical creatures and at the begining of the game you choose all the characters on your team (with a set amount of money to purchase them) you also choice what I think was called a ring bearer (like your king in chess, when they die, the game is over). You looked at the game from the perspective of being behind your characters and your characters could only move so many squares a turn. The ground was cut into squares to move on but WAS NOT a chess board, It looked like actual terrain.

Does anyone remember what this game was called? (it wasn't archon nor battle chess)
oh and I remember that it had both fire and water elemental creatures in it.

Well, I was about to not read the whole thing and say Archon... but just as I was about to hit send, I read the bottom part... oh well. Are you sure it isn't some variant of Archon?

Yeah, im pretty sure. I've looked at some screen shots and archon is played on a chess looking board isn't it? but with creatures instead of the normal players..

more or less, but when you get into the "fights" the screen changes to a scenario. Check out Archon Ultra

HOTU download 1 screenshot of the board
Google Query for Archon Ultra

Hopefully all those links work...

It's definitely Dark Legions.
I've been looking for it for quite awhile now. Does anyone know where I can find it?
