Magic Candle 2, The Four & Forty - Game crash [Win 7]

Hi,

I have no issues with using dosbox (currently have 0.74). The game mounts and starts up ok. Gets as far as the opening screen and crashes.

Mindcraft screen loads
MC2 Opening Screen loads
press anything to get to the selection screen and straight to:

"bad news. The game cannot proceed. Possible problems:

- The game was not installed correctly.
- Mindcraft made a BAD mistake.
- Your C drive is not in good shape.

If you cannot correct the problem, please call Mindcraft Customer Support "

Any ideas how to avoid the crash? I did have this game working on Vista a few months ago.

Installed the game in dosbox?
Setup choices?
Did you alter anything in dosbox config?

Original game? Downloaded? Copied? Cracked?

AKA: details, details, details ...................................................................

I already can tell you this: the game will not run if you drag/drop or use wrong mounts. It's kinda nitpicking about that.

Mount lines?
Inputs - mount c D:\games\old\mc2, switch to c: and mc2

Setup choices? I had none for MC2
Nothing changed from the standard dosbox config
Downloaded, unzip and mount.

The same download worked fine with Vista so i was hoping it would be nice and simple

for you that will be:

mount c d:\games\old\
c:

Notice: mount c d:\games\old\ and not mount c d:\games\old\mc2

To run the game, launch dosbox and input:

cd mc2
mc2


You can get the setup choices by inputting mc2inst whilst on c:\mc2\ dosbox prompt.
Accept hardware scanning, alter if needed as this:
