"If we can't hold ourselves up as an example of how to treat people with dignity and respect, we can't ask that other nations do that to our soldiers."

This doesn't suprise me at all.
Sorry to not be emotional or anything, but this sort of news is nothing new.
This sort of things happens.

"What are you going to do about it?"
-The question behind the reason why "terrorists" are impossible to overcome.

In my personal opinion, America is just a modern day Roman Empire.
(Though I should also add that if it wasn't America, there would still be another nation to take it's place)

"...those prisoners who did make it out told nightmarish tales of torture beyond imagining – and executions without reason. " -CBS

And to their religion the Americans Are the devil. Lies like this and others come every day. And yes America is not a Perfect god, and yes. We do stand as the moral shood-bies in the world. And we are. Though somtimes not perfect. By no means does that justify what happend. All I'm saying is, America cannot be held responcible for every SOLDIER in their army.

Try reading the Koran some time.

I might remind you that the Koran is over 1400 years old, and there is no reference to america whatsoever.

Have YOU read the Koran?

Amro, I know know. Not all Muslims are radicals. You're not! The extremest are quoted saying we are the devil. Sorry.

Okay, let me get this straight.

17 U.S. soldiers acted in violation of orders and tortured prisoners. They have all been removed from the service and are being court marshaled. (If convicted of murder they'll be shot) This happens a lot in war time-soldiers are only human too, and actually, compared to the civilian population, the murder rates in the armed forces is rather low. Now, tell me, how does a couple of soldiers committing a crime (for which they're being punished, btw) translate into "the evil U.S. empire torturing and oppressing the poor Iraqi people"?!?!? Did you even read the articles you linked to?

Oh, you might want to reconsider insulting members and calling them childish for holding viewpoints other than your own. That kind of behavior isn't looked upon kindly here.

But isn't that a co-op group effort? 17 soldiers working together to do this. Even a Brigadier General, a high rank!

Something is screwed up, very screwed up. Not one of those 17 objected!? Like what's up here! Anyone there to intercept them before it's too late?

This is like a school with lazy teachers and principal. The bullies take over! Not one of them there to say "DON'T DO THIS YOU SICKOS!". The system is very poorly run if a group co-ops to do that. And all 17 of them so darn sadistic?
