Tempest is a vector-based action / shooting arcade game that was released in 1981. Your ship rotates around the tubular playing field and shoots the enemies as they approach towards the screen. This updated version was released in 1994, with similar gameplay and a freshly updated design by Jeff Minter of Llamasoft fame. (It is known as one of the few good games released primarily for the Atari Jaguar system!) The graphics and sounds ratchet up the intensity level, with pixelated explosions and cycling colors complimenting the smooth vector-like animations. Safe to say that if you enjoyed the original you will like this updated version, presented here in demo form.
