Puzzle Fighting is unashamedly based on the Super Puzzle Fighter series of games by Capcom. The author mentions in the docs that he examined the Super Puzzle Fighter FAQ closely in order to mirror the original's rules as accurately as possible. Anyways the object of this game is to fill your opponent's screen with blocks, and you do so by collecting groups of same-colored stones into larger blocks, then destroying them with same-colored bombs. When you do so, more blocks will drop onto your opponent's screen. This game looks good, and has adequate sounds. You can play against a second player on the same keyboard (or one of you can use a gamepad if you have one) and you can also play single player against the PC with variable difficulty configurable from the options menu, which is a nice touch.
