New Year's Mystery is a graphical adventure game about a murder that takes place at a New Year's Eve party. It's described thusly: "Invited to a party, that ends in disaster. Can you find the murderer amongst the ever expiring guests." It uses the Sierra SCI engine so you move around with the keyboard or mouse, and type simple commands to make things happen. It has pretty good graphics, nearly on par with early Sierra titles (at least IMHO) and impressively the author noted it was created in a single month. (Maybe there was some reuse of assets going on there.) It seems like a short game (only 35 points) so it's probably worth trying out. (Source code is included in the src directory.)
