Castles of Mew is not a good game, but it's at least an ... interesting game? Created in QuickBasic by a new programmer (the docs note he has been coding for around a year) this game has numerous issues, the first being the unskippable PC speaker music that you have to sit through at the title screen. Once you get to the game, you are presented with an ASCII map (randomly generated, I think?) of the layout of a castle. You then navigate the halls in graphics mode, trying to move with stiff keyboard controls, and find different things. I mostly found death via dragon. For a person's first game there is stuff here to like, but it's not terribly fun to play.
