Axia is an Asteroids-type game where the screen rotates along with your ship. This demo version of the 3-years-in-the-making game (part time by a team of dedicated coders with other school/work responsibilities) gives you a taste of the full version. The gameplay is similar to Asteroids, but you also have a variety of other targets to shoot, and you collect cash and powerups as well. Cash can be used to buy upgrades at the store, which appears every five levels. The screen-rotation is portrayed as a feature, but I personally find it quite disorienting. Aiming is also an issue, as hitting your intended target can be difficult. However an amazing amount of work and polish is evident in this game, from the graphics, to the sounds, to the introduction story, to the options available and special effects. Definitely a high-quality game worth checking out, if you can live with the rotation and aiming issues. Unfortunately the "order now" link on the DDD website is broken, so it seems that the full version is no longer available. (Note: Press Esc to skip the intro story.)
