The 'new' and 'improved' The day the earth stood still
*groans*
What a screw up, average special effects (nothing we ain't seen before and certainly I've seen better done special effects)
Story? what story....? We're all doomed? What's new?
*groans again*

*sigh*

Take it easy old man. 60 years from now we'll fantasize how wonderful the 2008 remake was when compared to the 2068 remake.

Day the Earth Stood Still was a decent movie in it's own right (though how many times do we need to see NYC getting destroyed? Jeez, it's happened in at least 20 movies I've seen), but is nothing compared to the original classic, which is often considered one of the greatest Sci-Fi film of all time.

Screw those modern movies, high time to watch a real movie:
The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel, from 1951, a time they knew how to make a good movie.

Good movie, really good one.

Watched all 3 LOTR's movies back to back, all extended editions. That was an effort & a 1/2.

Then after Clerks 2 to see Randle Graves summarise the movie, quite well, in all of about 10 seconds as opposed to the 11 hours or something it took us to actually watch them...

It's gotten pretty solid movie reviews so far, actually.

Latest for me: Burn After Reading.

I highly recommend it, just a great movie.

Chaos
Not bad at all, and certainly lovely amoral.
Minus is Jason Statham, don't know, he isn't a good actor IMHO.

This time the real badass killer gets away with the loot.

I just saw 3 Michael Moore documentaries. "Bowling for Columbine", "Farhenheit 9/11", and "SICKO" Can't wait for his "Captilism a Love Story" to release here. He's a brilliant documentary maker. Really opened my eyes

Well, he's certainly a talented director (Canadian Bacon attests to that), but you do realize his movies are propaganda, not documentaries, right?

I just saw "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" Good lord what a movie!! Watching it was like living in a dream. And the main theme music is still stuck in my head. Very very very good. Jim Carey and Kate Winslet at perhaps their best!!
