It's the season of giving! That's right, Christmas-time, <strike>Santa's</strike> Jesus' birthday. That means ... COMMERCE. (Jesus would be rolling over in His grave, if He was in his grave, that is. Which of course He wasn't, hence the celebration ...) Erm, anywho, what I'm getting at is that it's time for .....

The DOSGames.com Free Stuff XMAS Contest 2006!

Okay, it's really just a random draw, not a "contest" per se. But I called the other ones contests, so ... yea.

For those who've never entered this before, here's how this works (it's like easy nstuff):
1) Post a link in this thread to a book, DVD, music CD, video game, or computer software that you want from Amazon.com.
2) On December 15th (or thereabouts), after giving everyone a chance to post, I'll randomly pick THREE names (using a random # generator) and they'll each get whatever item they posted ... free!

Notice that this is the biggest contest ever ... three winners chosen, each winning a $30 item of their choice. Note that you may now choose items other than books (if you must :P) ... see below for the "official" rules.

RULES:

Only books, DVDs, music CDs, video games, and computer software are eligible prizes ... no electronics, jewelry, lawn furniture, etc. :P

Maximum price of $30US for ONE item only (you can't, for example, get five $5 books, since that would increase my shipping costs)

One entry per person

You must be a registered member of this message board and have at least 40 non-garbage posts (as of today, November 30th)

The item must be in stock (ie it should say "Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours"); I'd really prefer that it's sold by Amazonitself and not a 3rd party (again, shipping costs)

Make sure Amazon will ship the particular item to your country! Look carefully, if it says "Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S." that means you can't choose that item if you're not in the USA!

Only post links for Amazon.com ... UNLESS you live in Canada, in that case please post links for Amazon.ca

Admin & mods may enter, however ...

Previous winners cannot enter (that means Da_Goat, Wally, GAMER and Swiftman are not eligible)

No items with content that could be deemed obscene/offensive (like violent games are okay but nothing really over the edge)

Note that winners will obviously need to provide me with their home address and phone # so that I can ship items thru Amazon (this info will be kept private and not shared, stored, or used for any other purpose)

Okay that should be it. So just post in this thread with a link to the item you'd like to have if you win. Any q'ns pls ask. Bai

READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING! THANKEES!

I've been lagging a bit in non-garbage posts as of the late. Looks like I'll have to brush up on that a bit, even though my luck is horrid.

Larry; please edit your post and choose another item. Unfortunately Amazon (and its 3rd parties) do not ship video games and software outside of the USA. (See here for the Amazon 3rd party shipping chart showing they don't ship games/software internationally) So you'll have to choose a book, DVD or CD. Sorry!

For clarity's sake, the following options are available, depending on where you live:

USA: Books, DVDs, music CDs, video games, computer software

Canada: Books, DVDs, music CDs, video games, computer software * through Amazon.ca *

Everywhere else: Books, DVDs, music CDs

And BTW... who'd wish for lawn furniture as a X-Mas gift???

Most of the items like jewelry nstuff is sold by third parties so there'd be extra shipping costs and hassles. And stuff like electronics (and lawn furniture, which was meant as a bit of hyperbole (exaggeration) for effect) is larger than usual meaning, again, probably higher shipping.
