Which dos box do you use to run games

Post by abyss »

I use dos box 0.63 and dos box 0.65. My dos box 0.63 does not seem to be actually emulating the sound. If i don't get sound on the game without dos box 0.63 than i won't get sound with dos box 0.63. Though dos box is needed to run games like jazz jackrabbit or indy car racing 2. So the games are working but the sound is not emulating. I have never heard what games like The Need For Speed or DOOM 1 sound like for many many years. Is their a way to get terriable sound on Jazz jackrabbit 1 on a xp. I got very terriable quality sound on a windows 98. I love the ultra terriable quality sound and want that sound when i am running the game on a xp. The sound is too high quality and the game is funner with low quality. That is what i want. I loved the low quality sound. I love the old school vga sound. It sounds like a regular vga game on a windows 98 but sounds like a svga game on the xp. I like old vga sound.

Still using DOSBox 0.63. I don't know what the current version is, nor do I care. I don't play games all that much anymore (Due to lack of time mainly) and the one's I do make for run fine under straight XP or in 0.63.

And hey if all else fails I still have my DOS6.0/Win3.1 machine in a box out the back. :P
