people probabley were, if my friend was around the store that had them, she woulda slept out to get it, but the thing is here you had the option since before christmas to pay 6 bucks for them to save you a copy to buy so your garunteed to get one

The whole hype around H.P. seems far away from where i reside, but in the Belgium main cities it also seems to spread. Some people organised some lecture party's in stores t'll the moment they may sell the new H.P.
They don't hurt others, and they look happy, so why not.
As long they let me live in peace I don't have any problem with their behaviour.
Live and let live I guess................ :)

At least kids are READING! The H.P books get the  from me for that reason alone ... reading books is now more socially acceptable! And that's a great thing. Although it almost seems that more adults than kids are reading these now ... (FWIW, I read the 1st H.P book, thought it was okay, haven't read any of the others.)

What is (for me) questionable here is that there are library's filled with great well-written classics, and yet, they seems only to know the HP books.
The only thing they know about the Greek wars is by Troy, yes, Troy the story that hollywood so grandiously has raped, what a joke.
Lord of the rings ? same thing here, who ever read the Tolkien books ? I have, the first time I've read them I must been about 13-14 years.....I have to say the movies are nice, but they can't compete with the books, no way.
Gonna stop here, or I'm gonna be busy the whole evening.......hehe.

Enjoy your HP's, but I doubt they will be still around in let say 2000 years...

MEh.. There wasnt a real rush around my local town

I walked into a store called "Big.W" which had them on sale for $22.00 AUS

They had 400 or so copies. I could easily walk to the stand take one and buy it along with 2 cartoon DVDs.

There really hasn't been the same hype as there was for the last one. I didn't even know it was being released until yesterday. I haven't heard of anyone (normal people) doing freaky things like camping in front of book stores (though I have heard people say they would read the books before noon, after the book was released at 9:30: they are probably liars).

There were a lot of parties for this one, though. Most bookstores had parties that went until midnight.

Anyhow, I got mine at Target today. Only $17, and they had TONS of them. Course, they printed 10 mil for the US release alone...

holy shit thats crazy, i know the ending, one of my friends sent it to me on msn  i wasnt pleased and also theres a video on ebaums world, this guy went past a store where there were piles of people waiting to get their books and he shouted out the ending and everyone started shouting and everything, its kinda funny, but it sucks when you didnt wanna know the ending

Now you see Julie124, that is the difference between a really good book and a so-so book. When the book is really good, it doesnt matter if you know the ending, the book itself and the structure is binding your mind. Not some kind of hype around it.
Hmmm, that really doesn't sound as I wanted, hmm, maybe I should try babelfish one day.....
