I was thinking about old pc games one day and I remembered one that I cannot remember the title for. It is a fantasy game that take place with knights and wizards and and has heroes. The game is birds eye view and has a map mode and then a battle mode from birds eye view and the way you know a land is yours is by a large shield over it. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If you have an idea let me know of ask me more questions if you think you know. Thanks!

no the game is older than heroes of might and magic. you could send your hero on a quest but you could not use him in battle. there were seperate maps for when you were in ruler mode and when you attacked another country. if you attacked a country you could either choose to play it out or let the computer do it for you.

I just checked that one out but it is not the right one. the main map is of fields and mountains and such and each country has a shield on it denoting who owns it. There are no towns or anything on the main map

also I just remembered there is an old wizard on the main map overlooking the whole map and if you cast a spell or something he is the one that performs it for you. I hope that helps some more

Way too easy! :D

This is Fantasy Empires.

Although I love challenging riddles I have to confess, that this really
puzzles me. Age of Wonders, Lords of Magic and even Dark Legions
occur to me till you made your last posting. A wizard who's overlooking
the main map... yes, I had seen that before. It took me some time to
realize the name *hehe*.

You can get Fantasy Empires from The Underdogs (www.the-underdogs.org).
Their version is updated to 1.1 and works fine with Windows XP. Be sure to
save the manual as well (due to the copy protection).

Best regards
