Hello. I have a problem.
I have an old laptop, a Compaq Evo N1020V with Windows XP professional, service pack 1.
I'm trying to play an old DOS game called Angst Rahz Revenge, an infamous FPS made by ManMachine Games.
The problems is that everytime i played it, it crashed after 5-6 seconds. Also no sound.

I've followed a guide posted here(Get DOS games working in XP!), which explained how to make DOS games work on XP.
I've followed every single point, but it still doesn't work.
Can you help me, or it's impossible to play it under win32?

It's a DOS game, so it should be able to run in DosBox if nothing else - there are some youtube videos on of which is showing the game running under DosBox - the starting sequence shows some settings that work.

I've tried to play it with Dosbox, but it runs badly. The notebook has 1.8 ghz CPU and 256 MB of RAM, so it's kind of strange that it runs so bad.

For pure DOS it is good enough, but with XP and then an emulated DOS environment for an action game...it could be you have need for more RAM to run the XP+DOSBox+Game without swapping out processes, look at the disk performance meters to see what is going on.

there is an alternative for DosBox - VMware Workstation Pro
you can install any OS under this system
but this emulator is much more complicated than DosBox
