Space Shooter. Fight files on your PC. DOS/Win3.x 1985-1995

Post by Sushislapper »

Hey all and thanks for your help in advance. Was a space shooter but it's universe was based on your computer. Each world you had to conquer was a file directory. You could not conquer the world until each file in that directory had been hunted down and destroyed. Thus the game was as huge or as small as what you had on ur pc. You can imagine how long it took to beat the Windows Directory level! I believe there was chance for upgrades but don't recall 100%. It was incredibly addicting and I always thought it very clever. I have no idea what the name was. This seemed like the best place to start in my search for what I thought was a very unique game.

Thx!

I remember reading about this one! But I don't know the name... if no one digs it up I'll see what I can do.

That is exactly the concept done with better graphics.
The one I played had a shareware / freeware look to it.
I wonder if they ripped them off or if it were an early try at this that I came across

That's the one I was remembering, thanks Rwolf! I forgot it was by Sir-Tech (Wizardry), and had the same name as the more famous (to me?) http://www.mobygames.com/game/virus__
