CGA composite coour mode and its emulaiton in DOSBox

Post by MrFlibble »

Recently I discovered, via VOGONS, this interesting video:
CGA Graphics - Not as bad as you thought!

It turns out that DOSBox SVN Daum can emulate CGA composite colour mode, as attested here (with screenshots).

Also, someone kindly made a list of games that support CGA composite colour mode. There's a similar list at MobyGames as well.

Cool stuff!

It was just in the last few years I hooked my XT w/ CGA up to a TV. I couldn't believe it took me this long, it was really cool. Quite amazing. I think it was Robotron and Spyhunter I tried, IIRC.

Hey, there's more on that list than I expected. I keep seeing Below the Root and particularily want to check that out sometime. Lots of other good stuff; The Manhunters, Shamus & Rocky's Boots!

Nice one. If you get it working, please share screenshots!

I caught that 8-bit Guy video the other day. It blew my mind to see just what CGA was capable of with the right hardware.
