Another coin spammer, "mmodiy1"; most of its posts are deleted - returning for more punishment perhaps?

A set of posts from the tinfoil-mad-hatter 'jamlieleven'.
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=13940

There is a link in the profile to the junk shop, maybe that can be added for filtering.

This user has all the signs of an "infiltrator" spammer:
  • username appears like a real person's name
  • there's a signature with some text, which can be replaced with spam links/keywords after some time
  • made some general, unspecific posts with no real content but pretending meaningful participation in a conversation
I think it should be watched for now.

One obvoius spammer here: 'herbalextractor'
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=13887

and another suspected spammer-to-be here: 'Sandy9789'
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=13986
(Made a Johnny-come-lately addition to an old thread with a generic praise post.)

Good call on Sandy9789. They had a bogus link to (what I assume) is a virused apk file.

Spammer 'fifa17sara' posted some nonsense with a spam link.
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=13997

(I tried using google to find out what this actually was, but all the results that came back were spam from sellers. Wikipedia finally explained the use in a game)

Banned account. Removed post. Updated spam words

Another spammer 'Sandy413' posted a generic message with an irrelevant forum quote, containing a spam link, in the general gaming forum.

Our resident (?) tin-foil-mad-hatter 'jamlieleven' made some more postings; same nutty message as before.

Wall-of-text poster 'baiyu' made some random postings, probably testing the waters.

'Mollylane' made a generic 'thanks' post in reply to a soon year-old seasonal posting, which looks a bit silly this late - holding off for a month or so would perhaps have made it relevant again.

http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=14025

(I should have caught that 'alexpaul' bot if I had searched around a bit better. At least it posted in the relevant forum here.)

Yeah, initiating a a relevant looking post - that's a new sneaky one I hadn't seen. And the post I caught him on - boy I thought he sounded smart... wait, he's just quoting me! :)
Nice work!

'Mollylane' followup - to another year-old posting with a link to a website selling keys for various games. These 'cheap' keys *may* or *may not* work, depending on the original publishers policy and/or vigilance - sometimes they are intended for a specific market only. Buyers beware.

A spambot 'kalys001' is trying to engage in a discussion, in an old thread from 2008.

http://www.dosgames.com/forum/profile.p ... le&u=14057

It posted a reply as an attempt at making an opposing view, and while appearing to quote a previous poster, also surrepticiously inserted a link to the spammers site in the quoted text.

(Possibly trying to frame the original poster for the spam?)

No, this seems to be a tactic aimed at concealing spam links from the moderators. Not very frequently used but happens from time to time. I think this might be coupled with the delayed spam link insertion (when the post is initially free of any links whatsoever).

Anyways the offender is trash heap'd and the topic locked to prevent future abuse.

Suspicious registered user 'peter47' introducing itself, with spam link in profile.
