2D spaceship game with weapon upgrades
2D spaceship game with weapon upgrades
Hi everybody i need help finding an old spaceship game
the game was a 2D game but i think they called it 3D back then, lol
spaceship shooting at different things, the direction of the game was to move from left to right on the screen( not from bottom to top as most games) the main feature was that the ship had an upgrade of 3 weapon drones moving around the ship
on some levels you had to navigate thru corridors
this is all i remember

You haven't indicated some of the relevant information, such as year(s) when you played it and platform. Please refer to the posting guidelines.
MobyGames has a list of side-scrolling science-fiction games, so you can try finding your game there. But if you know the platform (DOS, Windows etc.) it's going to narrow down the search significantly.

Almost definitely not SkyRoads.Guest wrote: the ship had an upgrade of 3 weapon drones moving around the ship...
Could it maybe be StarGoose?

To be fair, Stargunner is also a horizontal scrolling shmup with pre-rendered sprites. As is Interpose. And Nebula Fighter. And SideLine. And Terroid. Intensity XS also qualifies, but it's for Windows.
The OP needs to specify platform and year so the search can be narrowed down.

thank you , you had the closest answers but none are the right oneMrFlibble wrote:To be fair, Stargunner is also a horizontal scrolling shmup with pre-rendered sprites. As is Interpose. And Nebula Fighter. And SideLine. And Terroid. Intensity XS also qualifies, but it's for Windows.

platform is windows, year is around 2000 or something like that
closest would be interpose and nebula fighter
the main feature i remember was that the ship had an upgrade of 3 weapon drones moving around the ship in a circle
Here's a list of horizontal (and vertical) shooters, sorted by date: MobyGames list.
It might be worth checking out the years around 2000.

Weapon drones are a very common feature in shmups, so it's probably a better idea to try finding your game among side-scrolling shmups with pre-rendered sprite graphics.Wolfie wrote:the main feature i remember was that the ship had an upgrade of 3 weapon drones moving around the ship in a circle
There are certainly lots of shmups out there.
I just found Solaris 1.0.4., it seems like it might fit the description. A few more games to check:
Planet Force - has pre-rendered graphics but everything is in Japanese so no idea what it is.
TerraFire is a DOS game, but JIC. Also AstroFire.
Swarm Gold - probably not it, but still an interesting game.
Messier: The Extreme Destructive Device - again a Japanese game, no idea what it could be.
Katharsis
Xatax
Fire Wind
Astrobatics
