Woah, does that mean all ROMS >= N64, Dreamcast, PS1 are legal?

And what about abandonware?

Abandonware is still illegal because the PC's that still offer 98/ME as an OEM have support for most abandoned games.

this also means that all of the rom sites will shut down, because it's not, well, fun to distribute legal stuff over the internet. nevertheless...

Don't worry, Oz: Rom distributors are still illegal. ;)

And this doesn't mean ROMs are legal. It only grants permission to continue using your original software, even if you can't replace the hardware and OS anymore. The myth that you can download a game if you own it is now a reality, that's all (It used to be that it was only legal if you made the ROM yourself).

Wait. It only allows you to continue spreading the games in their original format.

ah, bitch. oh well, at least all of the ROM sites are open. and i can't get any of my n64 roms to work. prolly because they have 64 bits per instruction, and a pc only does 32 (or 64 if you have one of the new fancy ones), right?

Splodginator, why would they rule that you can now sell NES games? You could before.
