Old win 98 cd game inclused with purchase : space planetery

Hi all,
I had great fun with a purchase of win-98 back in the day and included in it was a CD a space planetary game.
A planetary game where you control a main mother vehicle which you slowly maneuver to a reasonable looking spot and release parachute other drone units from, to gather i think resources: in order for you to build other units.
Your playing against the computer which builds an army of various attack units resembling spider crawlers and so forth.
Your units can either be set for perimeter guard or mining, i think.
You, yourself can disembark and your a pilot, armed with some sort of laser gun, climb mountains and pick off drivers of other vehicles.
A slow game but remember having hours of fun with it, hope it sparks someone's memory as I'd love to get it again.
