I can't seem to get this game running with working joysticks.
I always arrive at level 6. But my hands are too worn by then.
It's gotta work better with a joystick

Yep, it has joystick support.
You need to run config first and select jyoystick, kinda obvious .....
Works fine here in dosbox 0.74, tested with 3 diff joystick.
My fav joystick would be a Logitech attack3.
Keep in mind, if you plug in or switch a joystick you'll need to restart dosbox.
