Using Quick on Curse of the Azure Bonds

I stupidly put quick on my characters and now they are always fighting on their own now. No fun. How do I make them stop?

Also, when I get enough points to level up will I have to go to a training center?

Unless CotAB is different, "s" should stop them. That or they stop by themselves after a round or two.

And yes, you'll have to visit the Hall of Training after you level up.

Yeah, I found the thing about stopping them from the quick. I'm searching for a training area now. I'm in the Fire Blades Hideout

I haven't the chance to spend more than 5 minutes playing the game, but there's a trainer in the village you start in.

Check both of those out, they'll help you a lot in your adventure.

Larry, have you played:

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
Champions of Krynn
Curse of the Azure Bonds
Dark Queen of Krynn
Death Knights of Krynn
Descent to Undermountain
Dungeon Hack
Eye of the Beholder
Eye of the Beholder 2
Eye of the Beholder 3
Gateway to the Savage Frontier
Hillsfar
Icewind Dale
Menzoberranzen
Planescape: Torment
Pool of Radiance
Pools of Darkness
Secret of the Silver Blades
Treasures of the Savage Frontier
Warriors of the Eternal Sun (Genesis)

and of course (they forgot to add it) Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager? If not, I'm very disappointed. (I actually *have* played the majority of those games... I must be a nerd)

P.S., Crucible, those are all must play games for you if you like CotAB a lot... I'm sure dosraider can help you get them all working!

I'd play Icewind Dale at some point if I were you. It's similar to Baldur's Gate (same engine), but with a lot more focus. Instead of a huge game with an entire world to explore and hundreds of hours of plot and adventure, it's a pretty linear fast-paced dungeon hack. Well, dungeons hack, there are quite a few dungeons... but not more than 35 or 40 hours worth, and all pretty well designed and challenging. (taking about 4 hours a apiece) It's more like an actual episodic AD&D game, and is specifically designed for multi-player. (i.e, no NPCs like Baldur's Gate) If you ever want to <strike>torrent</strike> legally obtain it, we should play it. (and see if we can get 4 other people to join too)

Also: Planescape is one of the greatest games of all time.

Might give it a go over the following weekend, will let you know.

And what happened to current-day's games' length? Nowadays, it's only JRPGs with their never-ever-ever-ever-ending storylines that break the 15 hours marker.

Good RPGs died about the same time grinding began to substitute good role-playing.

The Gold Box games and, later, Wizards of the Coast games came with 300+ page manuals, monster manuals, back stories, loads of classes and skills that allowed you to tailor your ideal character, and a really indepth experience full of good storytelling, adventure, exploration, and well written NPCs. All that's been replaced by "kill monster x, over and over and over and over" or "do repetitive fetch quests" WoW style. I think the game industry has forgotten that some people like to play games for the adventure, not just catharsis.

Then again, most of today's "gamers" prefer the "you can get the reward if you kill 65340245 boars over the course of 7 weeks, 5 days, 13 hours and 20 minutes" as opposed to the "classic role-playing".

That's 13 boars a second, a pretty difficult feat.
