Great satirical example, but I've actually had these sorts of discussions with people. A lot of them about the Lord of the Rings, and some about other books.

Read into it for a few minutes, laughing my behind off for most of the time, until eventually, I just got bored shitless and couldn't be bothered reading any further. I've been in discussions like these with people before.. And I must confess that I've seen *much* worse than this. Hesitant to reply to this, as I've got a few mixed thoughts about it overall.

I think it's a pretty profound example of how you can use conjecture with an authoritative and condescending voice to imply anything, no matter how ludicrous or incorrect.
