TTL logics

Recently someone released a freeware TTL software simulator.
As there are lots of younger members here -(schoolkids)- I thought it could interest some of you.
The software is performant, real time, and after I played a bit around with it I'm impressed by the accuracy of this TTL simulator.

For those who have no idea what TTL is about:
If there weren't no TTLs you wouldn't have a PC, there wouldn't be robotics, no PLC, every automated process uses TTL based hardware/software, it's the cornerstone of any home/industrial automatisation.
When you step in an elevator and push a button, you use TTL logics.
All the buttons on modern electronic hardware -(stereo-telly-DVDplayer-whatever)- have TTL behind them, etcetera etcetera etcetera .....blablabla.

You can get the full working Atanua@
http://atanua.org
Atanua is free for personal use.

Simply download it, unzip in an appropiate folder, no install needed.

Wow, this really hits the spot, I was just doing a paper-thingy about TTL(erm, dunno, transitor-transitor logic logics... that kinda sounds silly :P)

Anyway, nice find!

I know, I know, but ol'habits don't die easily. :P

It's a remain of the young days of TTL, when we had to build them up with discrete parts, you know, those things called transistors ....... No 7400 or 7404 in those days.

You young peeps have no idea how fun it was to build up a J-K FlipFlop from scratch.
Hmmmm, fun isn't really the right word, it was more a terrible experience.

Hahah, the program reminds me a lot of Siemens LOGO Comfort v5.
Useful program indeed.
Last year i was listening to Digital Electronics,we were working simulations in a smiliar program, but not as fancy as that one.
And i got DE at my finals,I were not soo got at it....

Oh my, you still must do those crazy things?
:blah:
We live in the chips era now .... 30 years ago we already had some slow 74107, now, at least you will learning the basics.
LMAO.

Yeah we actually had to do that, but then we switched over to chips

Looky what I found, I knew I had it somewhere buried in the cellar:

If one of you needs an ol'basic breadboarth, you may come and get it.

Please censor that,i get nightmares from it!

But but but ... it still works, on first glance I thought I tested a saw tooth generator, but after I found my first self-build osci back in the cellar and fired that one up, it seems it was a sinus generator I've made.

That oscilloscope is one I build myself some 30 years ago, show some respect for it.
Amazingly enough it still works.

It's a 'heatkit' build-it-yourself analogue model, imported from shark/USA, took me 1 full month to assemble the bitch.
You talk about nightmares, now friend, that was a realtime one.

Same as for the breadboard, you want it? Come and get it, you my have it.
BTW, that thing warms up as a stove, no transistors nor chips in it......

[Edit]
On second thought, maybe I better destroy that thing.
I think it's hazardous, the CRT can probably implode at any time now, and it must send an intensive X-ray beam right in my face.

Well, you learned something out of it

So I guess none is interested in a X-ray beaming CRT oscilloscope .... :(

Smart peeps .... :)

Trashed it will be.

Good riddens. Those things were life threatening.

Actually, I wanted to shoot some X-rays at peeps... ahwell, I guess it's too late now...

Babysitting a sleeping grandchild can be extremely boring sometimes.

[Edit]
3 houres later ...... things ain't going better, still bored.

As there is an overwhelming ( -_- ) interest lets continue.

This is also a nice TTL program, something completely different, but more complete than Atanua, and freeware of course.
If you're a student or TTL minded a must try.
Tough I don't find it as intuitive as Atanua it has some major plus points.

Get it @
http://www.draw2d.org/digitalsimulator/about
That what's it look like.

+5 for who guesses what that little TTL setup does.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, with the program comes a video capture applic, saves in AVI ( can be compressed).
Gives this:

Good thing GMail accounts are valid with Youtube.

Damn, forget the +5 of course ya cheaters.

But .... but .... but .... TTL is fun.
Ain't it?
Yes it is.
