#dosgames?

Post by Larry Laffer »

Over the past few weeks I've been leeching anime off various IRC chatrooms, so I used the occasion(s) to check out #dosgames. It's rather barren as of late(as in, not even TSM idles in there anymore).

Now, I know the time zone differences are usually inconvenient but maybe we could setup a day/time we could actually chat for a change(given certain members do more post reading than writing as of late. Yes, you know who you are!)

What say you?

That sounds cool cousin Larry. I'd love to chat with a lot of members around here. Perhaps we could add voice chat and web cams too :D

I would love to chat with you peeps, but alas, there is a problem, I really hate all that is IRC chat related.

Sorry folks, will have to do without me.

Maybe I'll investigate installing an online chat room on DG.com ... in the past, with my old hosts, such chat rooms were not allowed, ostensibly due to the bandwidth & CPU usage they (supposedly) require. But since I have my own managed server now, it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone know if any good & free chat room software/scripts?

There are some JAVA applets that I've stumbled upon at Java Source some time ago, but nothing I've personally tested.

I still idle there, just not constantly like I used to, part of that is also because DOSBot died, or rather the laptop I ran him from died, I'm in the process of getting a dedicated box set up that I can run things like bot scripts off & I plan to do a major overhaul of DOSBot when the box is up & running.

For now the channel is still registered & there
