Pop-Tarts
Pop-tarts are "discontinued" in Australia.
My mother never let me eat them as a child, and i always wanted to.
Then when they disappeared off shelves, i forgot about them.
Today i remembered them...
I badly need some.
Does anyone want to send me some?
I'll send you some Straylyan things back...?
Like... uhh... I'm not sure what you guys don't have that we do.
You have Vegemite... I'm pretty sure it's made in the USA now.
Kangaroo scrotum keychain?

I was never allowed to eat poptarts growing up either. So one day when I was at university I bought a box "Haha I'm not at home no one can tell me what to eat" ... and they were terrible. It was so disappointing.
If you have Toaster Strudel there, get that instead ...

I actually got so obsessed with the idea of trying them i spent all of last night (seriously... i was up till like 3am, and it was a school night!) looking for a place to get them.
This morning, instead of going to uni, i drove to get them.
You're right. They're terribly overrated.
But i feel better for having tried them now.

(Sigh) I have some very warm memories of having them as a kid. I used to come home alone after school really tired and hungry so I'd pop these into a toaster, heat 'em up and take them out carefully wrapped in a paper towel and munch away the strawberry goodness and crunchy bread... or whatever they were and watch Nickelodeon or play Super Nintendo... good times

I ate a pair of Pop-tarts every day for breakfast in high school. Seeing how I had no time to prepare breakfast, this is what I did.
Ever take some of the Mint Chocolate pop-tarts and put 'em in the freezer? Soooooo gooood cold.
Yo GAMER, I'll send you some if you really want.
Maybe you can send me some kangaroo jerky! That stuff is delicious. =)
Seriously, PM me. I want some kangaroo jerky.....yum.

Haha, i found poptarts, but PM me your address Wormy and i'll see if i can send you some Roo Jerky.
I can't say i've ever tried it before?
Poor Roos. They're such pretty things.
Do you not have Roo meat in the deli?
I would have thought we'd export it?
Yeah Dosraider... I never was allowed to eat sugary treats as a child.
My mother had my elder sister convinced that cherry tomatoes were lollies.
I used to have carrot sticks in the afternoons.

lol.. it's been years since I've tried poptarts. I liked them, but, considering I generally only had them when it was convenient to buy them, and how many years it's been since, and the fact that I'd completely forgotten about them until reading this, I don't think they're quite as addictive or impressive as they're made out to be. In any case, being discontinued would explain why I haven't seen them around for quite a while. Any idea why they were discontinued?

Not sure at all.
Probably because of Kellogs branding here...
They are marketed as a "health food"...
The poptarts don't really fit.

Apparently, Kellogg's is also trying to portray themselves as the company with the worst ads known to man.
(and while the Australian site looks marginally healthier, I doubt "coco-pops" has anything good for you in them)

Apparently Coco pops are full of vitamins and minerals but are very tasty, I wouldn't eat them every day on a regular diet.. Nutri Grain / Corn Flakes / Rice Bubbles or weet bix are my cereals of choice.Dogbreath wrote:Apparently, Kellogg's is also trying to portray themselves as the company with the worst ads known to man.

I also heard that they have no fibre whatsoever. No fibre for breakfast almost every morning = bowel cancer by middle-age.Wally wrote:Apparently Coco pops are full of vitamins and minerals but are very tasty, I wouldn't eat them every day on a regular diet.. But yeah, the health aspect would make sense as a reason to remove them. Pity though, as I thought they were a pretty cool product, so far as that sort of thing goes.
