Game Giveaway of the Day
Game Giveaway of the Day
There's a site called "Giveaway of the Day" that each day gives away one full version program (with the blessing of the author). It can be found at:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/
They also have a daily game giveaway:
http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/
The only catch is you have to download, install and activate the software/game before the day is over, otherwise it won't let you activate. AFAIK the software & games are all adware/spyware free, as stated on the site. Today's game is "Astro Fury" which I haven't tried yet, but it sounds good.

Yea I tried Astro Fury, it's not that great IMHO; kinda boring although it certainly looks & sounds nice. Still a good site; I check it daily.

This looks like a pretty good site! I just finished downloading, activating, and installing Astro Fury, but haven't played it yet. But, if it's kind of boring like emzee said, than I'll just hope for something better the next day. >_>
After all, they could be putting up a game that I've been wanting.
Overall, this site seems to beat the other methods of acquiring games and applications such as torrents.

Yea, plus its legal I think I learned about it when it was posted on www.downloadsquad.com (a software-related blog).

Nice find emmzee, will have to give it a look.
Though for anyone hoping to get something really cool out of this, I wouldn’t hold your breath, without even looking at it I can tell you chances are most things will be duds/not that great. Of course there are going to be gems here and there, well with any luck, but by and large if the stuff was really that good, they wouldn’t be giving it away for free.

I'm bumping this thread, mainly because, lately Game Giveaway of the Day has been giving away [obscure] well made games(and quite large actually), as opposed to pong/tetris/galaga clones!(but do stay away from thos Brave Dwarfes)

Yeah, the other day they had a pretty good one
<a href="http://pc.gamezone.com/gzreviews/r22002.htm">Space Interceptor</a>
Yep, that was indeed a pretty good one.
It seems that the games go from good to mediocre, no real system in it.
Not checking the site every day is enough to miss the good games.
It's probably on purpose, advertising income only work if people visite often.
Now yeah, aslong it's free, no harm in it.
