Window to the Future

Post by Larry Laffer »

I don't realy know where this should go but I have a realy interestig question:

How do you think this site's gonna look like in... I don't know... say 10 years or so?

I hope Mods and Admins will answer too since "The future of this site is depending on you"

It'll probably look exactly the same :D I'd love to redo the site, but that would take like 40 hours just to copy all the game info into a database ... which is a bit more than I have time for at the moment

How would you LIKE this site to look like?

I'm gonna reedit this <again>:
Maybe this is a realy dumb question... well actualy it IS for sure but
"Why don't shut down the site for a few days(so you get more free time) and rebuild it( though not many people will like this)

No one but emmzee knows. I may be a mod, but I dont know (Neither does any mod, or even Dogbreath) know what emmzee is going to, or is doing.

why not just take memorable topics and update the server or at least give skins and smilies well more at least
One time I had a Jack and coke and it had a lime in it, And I saw that the lime was floating. That's good news man. Next time I'm on a boat and it capsizes, I'll reach for a lime... I'll be water skiing without a life preserver and people'll say 'What the hell?' and I'll pull out a lime...and a lemon too. I'm saved by the buoyancy of citrus.

Problem with adding more skins at this point is that there have been several major mods/hacks added to the board which wouldn't work properly out of the box (or at all?) with other skins. It'd at least take a lot of effort to get 'em working, which I'm not prepared to spend the time on at this point.

Re smilies, that's a lot easier. Recommend some and I'll add 'em. (Try for example www.mysmilies.com ...) Note that they should keep to the current "theme", ie small, round, simple ...

We don't need any new smilies.

Maybe I'll work on a skin. =)

Smilies really aren't a legitimate form of communication.

The forums should stay the way they are; they look fine and function well. Trying to add extra skins would be, as emmzee said, a lot of work, also kinda pointless. This one looks fine... But if we do get any new ones... Any chance of a command line-esaqe skin? :P
