My super DOS-machine!

Post by fabiobol »

While my 386 Compaq isn't available, I built another dos-machine. Here is its configuration:

AST Bravo LC 4/66d: i replaced the CPU and the HDDs

i486DX4- 100 MHz
48 MB EDO RAM
1,2 GB Conner HDD; 2 GB Samsung HDD;
Sound Blaster Pro
2X CD-Rom conected to the Sound blaster pro
video cirrus logic 1 MB

if I put in a SCSI HDD, will I notice better performances?

And what about video card? The integrated-Cirrus Logic video card isn't too bad for dos games, but the Motherboard has got a Vesa local bus slot not used. If i put in a VLB card, will I notice better performances? If not, which ISA video card would you suggest me to put in?
