I just might have that all beat as soon as i get mine done it will be:

300 GB hard drive (thinking its going to be SATA)
Dual-Core Opteron 170
Geforce 7800 FX (don't know which brand to get yet though)
1 GB of RAM (get another soon)
Case: NZXT Nemesis Black

2 DVD drives (both burners)
floppy drive
Fan controller
MoBo already has 7 channel sound built-in

Auron, or anyone else who happens to be building a PC right now. Might I suggest that rather then going for the very latest’s of everything you go for things that are maybe a few months old. The reason being is because the difference in performance is often very minute, we’re talking things like nano seconds here. But the price difference can be quite substantial.

Yes my point exactly the performance difference is often very minute and yet the price difference can be quite substantial. You're still getting a pretty top of the line computer and your bank balance will be much happier.

I figured that's what you meant, if I had the money I'd get one of those for the new PC I'm building. Or possibly an ATi Crossfire.

Are you going with dual video? Im not, it would be way to expensive (because i would just have to start over on the Mobo and don't want to, yet). If i had the patience i would, but until then, one card is all i would need, and thats that card mentioned above.

If the price is right I definitely plan to go for 2 cards but that may not happen as I’m a little short changed these days. I’m not really sure what card I’m going to end up with I’m still shopping around for good prices.

I'm thinking im just going to go for a BFG Geforce GT instead of going GTX cause there doesnt seem much of a difference, except I think I remember hearing GTX is just overclocked (which I don't really want) and plus its about $50 cheaper.

What I'm doing mainly is checking out computer magazine websites to see the kind of hardware those guys were using a few months ago. It'll be top of the line for then and cheap(er) for now

Off the top of my head I don't know the performance difference between the GT and the GTX but it's morethen likely very minute and you'll be saving yourself $50. Which isn't much, but hey $50 is still $50.

Ohhh A palm PC now I got you. I just didn't think, I sugested those things be used to solve a technical issue on a problem given in my final IPT exam.
