Always something different to do there..
Most of the australian Arcades have ticket machines which you can redeem a prize with a ticket..
Prizes with 10000 tickets usually is a Game Console or something.
Those Crocodile games are cool you can cheat on them by having 2 or 3 people with you pressing heads

)
Nice to know someone who had played other games in the besides video games.
Arcade machines are quite different in different places. Some use tokens while some use prepaid cards. Some winning are tokens, tickets, sweets or toys. Tokens and tickets can be exchanged for prizes. Over here most of the prizes are terrible so I rather play the more interesting video games with special equipment. Prizes are usually better in USA, Australia & Japan. Hmm, maybe I day I should visit your arcade

but I doubt that I'll ever get that chance.
I played the crocodile game once together with my sister.

There was no prize to win on that one so who cares if we cheat.
Crane Machines i have never had luck with them. Always missed the prize by an inch. Same as those "Press the button under the red light ones"
Me too I never had luck with them.

My sister was better at that game so I got her to win the toy for me.

Only recently, I found the simulaton crane game in the link above and was excited as now I can try playing without wasting money.
The Feed the fat person and the knock the clown teeth out games always facinated me

.
Never hear of "Feed the fat person" game. What is it about?
Pinball Machines and those motion cop games are my favs but it pisses me off when the gun is not aligned properly and you lose your money.
Never got a chance to play on a real pinball machine before although I've seen before long ago. Now I think they are extinct over this part of the world. I played with the light gun a couple of times but I feel quite strange actually dodging and moving myself left and right.

I wish Virtua Cop 3 would be ported to PC. I've played Virtua Cop 1 & 2 on PC using the mouse click and still enjoyed it. So far for Virtua Cop 3 has only been available on arcade machines and Xbox. The one I played in the arcade using the light gun was Time Crisis and Some other Japan title.
As an arcade is always as good as a console (Except when you have nerdy spectators yelling out cheats to you)
Arcades are fun especially for games that can never be played at home. Nowadays, game consoles have extra accessories like light gun, dancing mat and driving wheel, gear & brake. One thing for aracde is that one must be prepared to spend money and finish the game because it cannot be saved. One fun thing is I played in the arcade before was a driving game with friends and the 6 to 8 of us sit in a row and could compete together in the race. The personal comment you can make to your friends in the arcade while playing the game is much more fun than multi-playing over the internet when you cannot see the person's face or hear his/her voice.
