Crystal Caves interview

Post by SpikeNexus »

I am soon to interview Frank Maddin (author of Crystal Caves and Monster Bash, among others) for the Perilous Crystal Caves Website and instead of only asking him questions that I want to know the answers to, I thought I'd see if any other Crystal Caves fans have any questions (which don't have to relate to Crystal Caves - could be anything to do with Frank) that they'd like to know the answers to.

So, if you've got a question you'd like Frank to answer, post it here.

I have posted this question at the Commander Keen Forums, as well. Check out what questions they've asked here.

I will be sending whatever questions you have to Frank on August 3.

1. Why to split it to 3 .EXEs insted o' 1?
2. Will it be here a sequel?
3. Which one is better, Secret Agent or Crystal?
NO Windows, NO DOSBox, DOS!

I like kazer0's question. :)

BTW 486 player answering ur question no 3. I would go with Secret agent.

A question I would wish for you to ask Spike, (Simular to 486 players question)

Will you ever combine all these games into one EXE which is one rather large map?

Which was your favorite level in Crystal Caves?

Where did the inspiration for Milo come from?

If Mylo needed money so bad, why didn't he just get crystals from the mines and invest them into stocks?

I would like to know his thoughts on the current state of the games industry and modern video games.

To answer that right now, the rights belong to Apogee (3D Realms). 3DR decided not to release many things freeware because most people involved in the company would rather just forget about them and not have anything to do with it. Besides, if people really want to play them $10 isn't too much.

Frank Maddin wrote: John, John, John, I'm disappointed in you. Is that Ax buried in your head? If you had read your prospectus (what an interesting word - derived from "prospector", no doubt) you'd know that stock markets are volatile and can decline significantly in response to adverse issuer, political, regulatory, market, or economic developments. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Mylo is far too smart for that fraudulent scheme.

Nice interview. Wally, it's a site only about CC. There not that many people whom he could interview.

Thanks for the comments.

As for more interviews regarding Crystal Caves - there's no interviews planned as such, but if they are willing, I do want to ask some of the other people on the Crystal Caves team a few things. If it turns into an interview, I'll be the last person to complain, mind you.

If I ever do get a chance to interview any of the other Crystal Caves team members, I'll post here and see if anyone's got some questions for them, too.
