Becoming a moderator

Forum for all the suggestions that have 1. nothing to do with our two websites (Dosgames.com/ DosGamesArchive) and 2. are not bug reports.

Becoming a moderator

Post by Elign »

Hi.

Some people may show interest in becoming a moderator from time to time. Should there be an application form, for those who want to be a moderator? Or maybe devote a topic for moderator application forms/resumes?

Or have job interviews, or make people explain why they deserve to be a moderator, or whatever...

It seems many people want to be moderators/admins, there should be an avenue where they can apply themselves, and sort of "find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow". Existing moderators can then try to become admins.

Or even if there was a money option. Or some type of democratic election process.

And for those who become moderators, we can celebrate their success in the DGF political system.

Possible advertising: "DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MODERATOR? Do you have a passion for DGF? Do you wanna play with the big boys? APPLY NOW! [admin emails]"

I hope this makes sense. :)

They are hired as the need arises. Currently, there seems to be enough to keep the level of cretin we get regulated.

Level of cretin?

Anyway, it might be a nice idea to give even the faint opportunity for members to climb their way to the top. Through a standardized channel.

Um, this is fairly standardized.... stick around for forever and don't be an asshole, and you'll get offered a position eventually.

It only took me two years to be offered the job! I turned it down because I'm weird.

What can I say? I'm sort of desperate for OC, non-control freak people who actually enjoy modding... it's a rare combination.

What does OC stand for? Acronymfinder.com yields way too many results.
