They were pretty so-so. I think it would have been wiser for Quinten Tarantino to just cut it up into one movie.

It doesn't capture the true feel of an Asain Kung-Fu movie (even though I'm not a huge fan of them). Part 2 especially is just too "all-American" if you get me. And contrary to popular belief, they're not the goriest movies of all time, they're pretty far from it actually.

QT's worst.

Originally both parts were supposed to be one film but they decided to split them up most likely due to time and/or to milk more money out of the film(s).

Generally I think both movies were overhyped. The first one was alright, the fact that they got Chiyaki Kuriyama to be in it was impressive nonetheless. The second one just seemed too short and not much was really involved rather than flashbacks of Pai Mei and driving the last few distances to Bill's villa. I give the series points for consistency in style but other than that I don't think the movie deserves THAT much credit.

IMO, both are GREAT films, whether you consider them as two different films or as parts of a whole. They flow really well, do a good job of keeping the watcher interested, vary between different styles nicely, and the music kicks ass.

Your right, But the movie (one full movie) as in the script would have been better with the scenes that QT didnt add like the first time we see Bills face in the sript it happens when he mets LF O Boyle which is not in the movie. A 4 Hour movie would have been better then Two 111 and 137 minute parts and it would have had more action, and more Pai Mei

Andy Warhol made some movies that were 24 hours long.
He made an 8-hour movie that was just the Empire State Building and nothing happend until the end when the lights went on.

Warhol is god.
