wow... you seem to like the ones I generally try to shun out...

Internals
------------

Processor
------------
I'm 50/50 with Intel, and AMD

MoBo

Crap: SiS, Creative (they get a spot on both ends of my list)

RAM
------
Fave: OCZ and Corsair
Crap: Apacer, and Azen which is so bad I can't even locate a URL for it... (any ram under $150CND can only mean trouble)

HDD
-----
Fave: Maxtor and WD(only b/c of Raptor drives)
Crap: Who made those Bigfoot drives? I think it was Quantum

DVD Burner
--------------
Fave: LG and Sony, Asus
Crap: Plextor (WAYYY too xpensive)

CD Burner
-------------
Fave: LG, Lite-on, and Asus
Crap: None, the ones that I didn't mention go in the middle of the line

Floppy Drive
---------------
Fave: Mitsumi (b/c of the Floppy + Cardreader drive)
Crap: None... it's a damned floppy drive

Appearance
--------------

Case
------
Fave: Thermaltake & Antec
Crap: The crap $39-$59 cases we sell at Bestbyte (and whoever makes the hiddeous "Diabolic" case we sell there... it's plastic barf
[edit]Wow, I found out that that case is made by CasEdge who actually have some pretty good cases... this one must have been a fluke or something...

Fans & Lights
----------------
Fave: Thermaltake
Crap: The no-name stuff we sell @ Bestbyte

================

CPU: Intel, only because they are the original. Slowly I'm starting to like AMD more

Chipset: Intel, since they make CPUs (The others are dandy too)

Video card: Like all of them equally

Sound card: Creative Labs

Fav System builder: IBM (if only they would give a reset button)
Least fav system builder: HP (seems like they assume that all their customers are newbies)

Everything else: Like all of them equally in general

Motherboard: nVidia nForce (I, II, III)
Video Card: nVidia GeForce
RAM: Who cares? Its all the same to me. Stupid SD-RAM
Sound: I don't care.

Processors:
AMD has always carried me through, whereas my Intel machines usually seem to try and give me the proverbial digital middle finger. Don't know if this is the case overall, but I've definitely had better luck with AMD.

Video Cards:
NVIDIA’s TNT/TNT2 seems to be an excellent card, though their Geforce 2/4MX was crap. Voodoo was the worst $90 I ever spent.

Sound Cards:
I've never had a sound card that worked like I wanted it to... Creative seems fairly good, though.

External Wireless Connection Airport:
2WIRE seems to work well.

I've never really had bad or good experiences with any other hardware that I can remember brand name (though I've had a shitty keyboard and monitor apiece) so I can't really comment. *turns on n00b shield*

In most areas I don't have a real preferred company, but I like Maxtor HDs, LG optical drives, Creative sound cards and MAG monitors.

AFAIK, AMD does not make motherboards. The frontline for AMD processors is an nForce 2 board.

That would be Socket A. Most likely because the only company that makes socket A CPUs is AMD. There are a TON of diffrent Socket A Mobo makers. Mines ASUS, and I know Gigabyte, MSI, and nVidia also make them. There are a ton more.

The majority of big mobo makers make mobos for both Intel and AMD chips. The exceptions would be Intel (go ahead, call Intel and ask if they make mobos for AMD, I wonder if you get sued for harassment), and I think nVidia and AOpen only do stuff for AMD. But ASUS, ABIT, MSI, GIGABYTE, DFI and many many others do both.
