Help with Sound in Windows 98

Post by BillyBob »

I have much of the game working OK, but now I need a way to get the sound working. I have a Sound Blaster Live! bought a few years ago, and I have no clue as to how I can get the sound for DOS up and running.

Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated (no ridicule, please).

I'm about 99% sure that your sound card is a PCI card. Using that boot disk I helped you make, it's almost impossible to make PCI sound cards work in pure DOS mode.

Either get an ISA sound card or play the game silently. That's too bad  .

Nuts.

Oh, well. It's still a good game. I had it running on another computer and (with a heavy dose of luck) I was able to get the sound working there. The computer got 86'ed on the move to where I currently live.
