Uh, you type "", without the quotation marks.
And if it's on my computer, the URL's like: "http://C:/blah/blah/etc/etc.file"?

No? Well what's that "show us your desktop" about? How the hell did those people get the pictures of their desktops there?!

please, PLEASE tell me you are joking!
well, just in case you aren't, you should know this. Those people haven't linked directly to a image on their computer. they have uploaded to some webserver, a computer dedicated to distributing information online.
Now, you can upload those files too. there are FREE alternatives, and For-PAYMENT alternatives.
I would advice getting a tripod.co.uk free account, and using it only for your pic uploads.

To post an image here either:
A.
An example of this would be my Spiderman Avatar:
<img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-3/1 ... %20Man.gif" width=128 height=128>
Another (easier) way that you can only use in this type of message board would be:
And it'll add the rest for you. (Note: though BBCode will "do the HTML for you", it doesn't allow image sizing control)
To post a picture of your desktop:
A. press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. (this is the built in screen shot taker, though you can download a program to do it for you)
B. Open Paint and select "edit" "paste".
C. Save it as a JPG.
D. Upload it to your host. (if you don't have one, you can use a free image hosting site like VillagePhoto's)
E. Post it here using the instructions above.
A.
Code: Select all
<html><img src="image link" width=X height=Y>
Code: Select all

That should do it! I'm on Angelfire, they'll let me upload images (for free, of course). (thanks for your advice of how gettin' the screenshot. I was wandering around why it didn't work, no matter how much I pressed the button )

Oh please... I just asked how to do it. You don't have to start a freaking show out of it!

Uh, if your computer is always on, then you can make your computer it's own host... otherwise you'd have to upload it to some website. (Note: there *is* a way to upload any image you want to Dosgames.com without FTP access... but it takes a bit of busywork to do... I'll let you figure out how for yourself )
