AMD. Reportedly, Intel is actually going to start losing money big time soon unless they can come out with a new breakthrough, most of the stockholders are losing faith, especially considering the popularity of AMD.

And AMD doesn't have as much a vested interest in MS's OS hierachy. Linux/Unix runs on just about everything, much to Wintel's annoyance.

Especially now that Microsoft hired AMD to make the GPU/CPU for XB2.

Well my AMD machine runs twice as fast as a pentium 4 that's supposed to be 3 times faster... 6 times more efficient overall.

As much as I'd love to say "A runs rings round I", there are so many variables of hard and software that it shakes out a dead heat overall. AMD does do really well on a fifth the investment of Intel and hurrah for them ;) . I just enjoy the fact there are alternatives, and very good ones, to the status quo. We all win from this competition and get cool stuff to run our software. That's the real point. B)

Agreed, the competition is good... it inspires the companies to make more efficient hardware for less money. If it didn't exist... well, MS hasn't had real competition in a while, and look at the road it's heading down...

Well, In consoles and games it has competition, almost unmatched in Office programs, it has slight competition in OS's, Web Browser's it has some competition.

Office seems to be getting better, however Windows worse.
