Anyone good at fixing DSL and DSL Routers?

My DSL internet is been going slow (like 56k speed) since 2 weeks ago (today is 09-26-02), and I dont know what is worng. It used to d/l at speeds of around 80-100 kb/s max, now its at 6-8 kb/s. I applies a registry patch, and used the optamiser they have on www.speedguide.net . And I still cant get it to go. Here are the Specs,

Computer -

P-Celeron 433 mhz
356 mb ram
10/100 network card
Integrated everything else (except floppy and cd-rom)

DSL

Speed Stread Thing
Linksys Wireless DSL/Cable router (We are not using teh wireless option)

DSL Specs (registry)

TCP recieve Window - 256960
MTU Discovery - Yes
Max MTU - 1492
Black Hole Detect - No
Selective ACKs - Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs - 3
TTL - 64
Max Connections Per Server - 20
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 40
LAN Browsing Speedup - Optamised
DSL (PPPoE)

Computer Soft -

Windows 98se
Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition
Norton Anti-Virus
Windows MSN Messenger
Media Player 9 Beta
Realplayer 7 Basic
IE 5.5
Netscape 4.x
Winzip

Thats about it, I can change these settings

DSL (PPPoE) to Extreme Settings :
Max MTU would change to 1500
TCP Recieve Window to 513920

Thats all the Info I got, Please help me!

well have you tried calling the dsl hotline thing at the sbc hotline thing and the hotline thing?

1. Those $&#! hotlines take 30 min just to accept your call, and by then you forgot your problem

2. Since all the parts are made of different companys, they all blame it on each other.

3. I dont call them anymore, some guy came in and said, "ok, all fixed" and it went slower than ever.

4. Sympatico (its canadian, SBC is american) doesnt do crap ass!

well i dont know... because when i had problems they kept coming and they kept helping me on the phone... your company must really suck...

it does, i hate simpatico. the only otehr option is mnsi, and they arnt to good either.

I had a Dsl problem 2 days ago... i called and they fixed it... so i guess the american help line is better!
