After more than 12 years I get to play The Original Sims once again.

Yes but it is a BOOGER to get running in Windows 10. You have to install it somewhere other than Program Files, get a copy of secdrv.sys from a Windows 7 or 8 machine, find a way to sign the driver, then run Windows in test mode. 8.1 isn't much better, as it requires uninstalling at least one of the updates (KB3086255). It's probably easiest to just keep a spare XP or earlier computer.

Gotta say, Sims 2 and 3 have really held up well over time, but going back to 1 is hard. It was so revolutionary and amazing back in the day, yet somehow doesn't have the same charm as it used to, at least for me. I believe LGR (Lazy Game Reviews on Youtube) said the same thing.

Still, Sims 1 has a few charms that you can't get anywhere else: the original Bella Goth, the ability to create a house full of nerds with zero personality points, and the timeless music..."nhood2" will always be one of my favorites!
