Hello, it's been 9 years...

Post by JMS_Jay_Interon_Elign »

Hi everyone. Some people might remember me.

I went under various names such as JMS, Jay, Interon, na010894, Elign, and Final Chance.

I originally joined around late 2003, this forum was pretty much the first time I ever socialized on the Internet in public. I met a lot of cool people like Wally, Emmzee even gave me hard drive space on the server, I made lots of reviews for DOS Games Online (Joris's site).

Overall, I had a pretty good time. :) I'm technically still a DOS gamer, just not very often.

I even read some of my old posts and stuff...

For all the good stuff that happened, I had a lot to learn about social skills. I tended to over-hype or over-dramatize stuff.

Being new to the concept of socializing online, at one point I was an insecure, paranoid drama queen. I cared about stuff like post counts, thought you had to be mod/admin in order to be somebody (like a weird hierarchy), and I even got pissed with Kazer0 one time for no good reason, other than I misread his words as a personal attack. This forum taught me a LOT about socializing online, no school could ever teach me what I learned in the 3 years I was here.

To Dogbreath and Kazer0, if you're still here to read this, I want to thank you for that much needed lesson in socialization.

Being on this forum was a huge educational experience about life for me in general, more than you'll ever know.

Hello and welcome back :) I'm not sure I met you before here. The forums are pretty quiet these days.

I can quite sympathize with many of your online socialising experiences you have recounted here. I joined my first forum in 2004 (still a member there) and learned a lot about online etiquette (and also boosted my language skills as English isn't my native tongue).

Welcome back!

I do remember you writing reviews for DOS Games Online, I was so happy with it since my own English was even worse back then as it is now.

As MrFlibble said, the forum is pretty quiet these days, so don't get desocialized here this time ;)

Haha, I remember you - you even took the time to redact all of your old comments before you left.

Glad to see you back around here! Kazer0 hasn't been around in forever. I think DB may make the occasional drop in here. I too come and go.

Great to see Joris and Wardrich again :D

Yeah. It's amazing that this place is still active at all in 2016, or even existing for that matter.

I'm guessing Emmzee still gets a profit from ads or whatever. Not many websites (other than big corporations like Microsoft/Google) ever last longer than 10 years. Definitely a big accomplishment.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much of a kickback he gets from ads these days. I'm not even sure how many hits the site gets. emmzee's been really busy with life - I don't see him around these parts often. He did recently switch the site to a new server though.

Extreme Gaming was sort of a "new gaming site" that Wally created, covering video games across any platform, along with a new forum where he made just about all his close friends admins on like the first few days :D It was funny to see admins vastly outnumber regular posters (I believe I was a mod).

It lasted about 3 months I think before we just sorta left it alone. Exciting concept at the time, to have a separate faction from DGF. The main thing was the forum, I don't think the website itself did much of anything.

I remember going back a while after we abandoned it to see it FULL of jibberish word-salad spam posts.

I think it was like 2005 or so, can't remember when.

It's been 3 for me.

Post by friendsforever »

I've been here 5 years ago however left 3 years ago. I continue to be who I am except I've decided to include people into my life. I used to be pretty bad. My mom would give me laundry money and I would go out and buy junk with it. These days I just eat the food my mom gets for me. She is my life. I think I would only live maybe 20 years if she died. I miss my mom more and more each day. I don't have many friends however there's a few people I remember around here. This place is classic. It is one of the few websites that I visit. It's dedicated to DOS and I hope I continue to stick to DOS. My dad who passed says to program when he's gone so that's what I do now. However I plan to program until DOS is no longer functioning. I see that switching platforms make you weak because you don't specialize like my aunt says. The is where it all started for me on this forum. I can't believe it's been 5 years since I started on this forum! Hopefully I'll be around to produce games for the remainder of DOS's lifespan. I see Windows growing so much that if it continues we old people will get left behind. The new kids will just take over. I've said it before however it is worth repeating that I'm grateful in part to the whole DOS community# Unfortunately it is a down time for me. Christmas is arriving and I've just completed 55 levels of Lode Runner revisited. Hopefully the producer of LR won't care that I'm doing their game for DOS!!! I've checked the archives and couldn't find LR anywhere so hopefully it's new. I've listed credits somewhere. However there's many who are users who I appreciate too. I'm not getting older; In fact with each passing day I love my mom more and it makes me feel sad that I love her so much!!! I hope one day I can travel like John Carmack and John Romero; Though the genra I make is different from their's I am always amazed at their perception of quality. But it disheartens me that I've only been here for a short time. You know companies like ATT have been around a long time and established themselves; However Comcast is my service provider and they've been doing a pretty good job so maybe new people can do a good job too. I've always prided myself on my family and my family just bought a religious wall plaque to hang on our walls. We've always wanted one but never could find the right religious seller. It should be arriving within two weeks. However the online sellers are always iffy; You never know if it is for sure you'll get it# I'm always home being patient these days listening to music.

Jesus Christ! Bless God, Jesus Christ, Mary Immaculate, and The Holy Spirit# Then bless my real mom Huong Thi Vu!!! Honours to my real mom Huong Thi Vu and my real dad Nguyen Binh Thuy; Congratulations to my real two sisters Nguyen Khoa Thuyen and Nguyen Khoa Thi while myself is always worried for nothing Nguyen Khoa Tien who always loves Jesus Christ!!!!!

Anyways for those of you who want to know where I get my tentative products maybe www.bethelemnativityproducts.com is a okay place. Supposedly they sell authentic olive wood and materials from The Holy Land! However I have yet to verify it. Currently I have to see if they ship anything to my place. It's supposed to be here in less than 2 weeks however I'll let you know if they give me the runaround. The money from paypal was easily taken and also a phone call to them verified a live person on the other end. I'm supposed to be getting a few pictures of comparable products that is of Jesus Christ and Immaculate Mary to place on the wall. I'm supposed to get texted or my dear mom Huong Thi Vu is supposed to get texted with plaques that are olive wood and Jesus Christ and Immaculate Mary. So I'll know within 2 days. Who knows maybe my mom has to call a place and get her money that she worked with hard work back. I know its only a few bucks ($36 plus free shipping) however you never know. I'll let you know the quality if I get anything in the mail or I got scammed.

Good news!

Well although the above website didn't call me my friends at one of these two Catholic websites donated a miraculous medal to me: www.amm.org or www.cammonline.org Please be patient since it takes time for the miraculous medal to arrive. Plus it is Christmas around the corner so the volume may be high in demand! So thank you to Mary that her son saves us from losing what is valuable. My mother works hard all her life for what she has. Even to lose $36 is too much; That could be used to buy food for a 3 days or more! So to those who have lost or ever lost something of value you can currently get so long that they're in supply a miraculous medal. Remember they only have enough because of donations to make these medals. So please remember them etc.

It is good to be back. However being friends I just want to let you know that the nativity place took my money and didn't give anything back. It's been a week and nothing in the mail that is what I ordered. So stay away from them! If something comes in the future I'll let you know.
