Litude's collection of Apogee shareware

Post by MrFlibble »

Recently Litude shared his collection of Apogee/3D Realms shareware releases. It's really huge because he included every release of every game that he could find (different versions, different installers etc. etc.). The archive can be downloaded here:

It's mostly of historical interest really but worth a look if you're into DOS game releases and don't mind downloading a ~500 MiB archive.

I just got to unzip and try out one of the shareware/freeware.

It was a pretty fun game surprisingly!

Of course I only tried 1 game of the many listed.

However it is a good pack if you can wait to download.

I highly recommend it.

Apogee is well known for publishing and developing high quality shareware games, so whichever title you pick you're sure to play a good game.

All the games can be downloaded separately (e.g. here - just scroll down to the "All games" view), and some have actually been released as freeware.

But the reason for this pack is to collect all known public releases of each game, for historical purposes. Litude also maintains the Apogee Software Game Information Vault which is dedicated to documenting all the differences between the versions.

If you just want to play a game, normally you'll want to only get the latest version of it.
