[DOS] A game about a blue ball, 90's (?) [DSCHUMP]

Post by AtomSpy »

Hello guys.

So I played a DOS game alot. It was about a blue bouncing ball, you had to control it and you needed to reach the end of the level and you needed to avoid the black holes on the tiles, and other obstacles.

I played it on my old Windows 98 PC i got in 2001.
It's a puzzle game, VGA 2D graphics., bird's eye view.

What is the name of the game? I really want to play it again.

None of them. But thanks, dosraider, for the Mobygames link!
I will search the genre, and post a reply if I found the game.

UPDATE!!
Nothing found, but more information came into my mind.
The screen scrolls slowly up vertically, like in Overkill.

Well, not that one, but you have to do almost the same stuff as in Paragon!

It looked like that at first, but not that one.
Remember, guys, the camera scrolls upwards like in Overkill.
If no one finds it, at least I got a list about games that I should play. lol

There are multiple versions of Paragon.
Here's a version that got a re-release under the name Street Ball: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHtIOZd883M

According to MobyGames, there's a version for the Apple II, Commodore 64 and DOS. I think there's another version for DOS and maybe Windows, but not with a scrolling camera.

Anyway, all these versions have in common that "your ball moves back and forth on wires until you release it, at which point it bounces around the maze until it hits another wire." Does that ring a bell?

I played a DOS version of the game at a friend.
It's still not the game I was looking for. But at least the games in the replies have the blue ball.

The only game I can think of is actually called "DSCHUMP" and it has a ball bouncing along platforms in what looks like outer space, and has arrows but I think those reverse the direction of the ball. Just a guess, but worth a shot.

I played it on my dad''s friend''s 486 when I was like 5 or something so... :)

I found it months after posting, but thanks for the reply! This was what I've been looking for for nearly a decade! :D
