DOS PC Maze Game 1985-1989 [Repton]

Post by Michaelh »

I played this in the late 1980s on a DOS type PC. It involved a character collecting diamonds, eating soil, avoiding falling rocks and eggs (which would hatch dinosaurs or monsters) and finding your way through a maze. It's NOT the simpler Dig Dug that I know about. Help anyone?

Maybe one of the Boulder Dash games or variants? And not Dig Dug, but maybe the Digger variant worth taking a look at?

Wow, very sharp.!! I think what I'm looking for is indeed a Boulder Dash variant - Repton. Thank you SO much.

Sweet! Glad you found it. Repton link for convenience.

For curiosity's sake, do you remember what kind of computer you played it on? Mobygames is listing it on the Acorn Computers, like BBC Micro, Acorn Electron, or Acorn Archimedes? At any rate, fun stuff!

Sorry, I don't. It was a friend's parents and I was a student at the time. It's a long time ago and we had limited very product then (South Africa was subject to economic sanctions because of the Apartheid policies). Best guess: An IBM machine "grey import". Happy memories! ^_^

OOoooo... Repton still sold ..... :)
Still, $19.95 is a bit heavy isn't it?
They should lower that price as adv for repton 2 - 3.
Ah well, Rwolf, THX for the update!

Ah also they have "Pipeline Plus", that's a pretty good game ....
