Sound problems monster bash and duke nukem

Monster bash v2.1 is the payed verson. I have the 3 shairware versons of Duke Nukem. On a sys with os's 95 or 98se the sound works just fine for both games. On XP PRO both games run just fine but I only get sound out of the PC speaker inside the tower. Nothing via the sound card. Can someone help me with this problem please? Sound card info below.

Two possibilities to get sound on such hardware under XP for dosgames:
VDMSound or dosbox.

Highly recommended is dosbox, read the stickied XP howto.
BTW, default soundsettings in dosbox are:
SB16, SB pro or SB compatible.

If possible, set the card to Sound Blaster Pro for DOS.

Duke 1 doesn't support sound card.
