Hmm. You shoudn't limit yourself to midevil times. There's a lot of good fantasy other than that. If you're limiting, then
:Chronicles of Narnia. Midevil fantasy, but not totally. You'd have to read it, but all the action's in the type you're looking for. First book: The Magician's Nephew, but the later books are more midevil than this one, but you really want to read that first.
:The Silmarillion by Tolkien. The beginning's more like a history textbook, but it's really good. It's mostly first age, but that's okay because first age is cooler than third. The elves are BADASS. A dozen elves get ambushed by hundreds of thousands of orcs, before they're dead because of fatique from fighting for a week, they kill roughly a hundred thousand orcs.
However, a good fantasy series is "His Dark Materials". I loved this series, too, but it's not medevial.
Another is "The Dark is Rising" by Susan Cooper, highly suggested reading.

I have just started "His Dark Materials" (first book is The Golden Compass), and I must say that this is awesome, though it's not particularly midieval....there's still enough magic, princes, and religious undertones, though.
And, I haven't personally read it, but quite a few people over at Game Hippo really like the Wheel of Time books. It's a series (up to ten, now), starting with "Eye of the World". Each of the books are over 600 pages and in small print O_O. I've never seen them, but from what they've told me, and the covers, I'd say it's pretty dang midieval.

Well, it doesn't say it in those exact words. Here's what it says:
The Golden Compass forms the first part of the story in three
volumes. The first volume is set in a universe like ours, but
different in many ways. The second volume is set in the
universe we know. The third volume will move between
the universes.

Romeo and Juliet's not bad at all. I liked it, actually. I had an idea for a cool rip-off:
Star-Wars Romeo and Juliet.
Tybalt is Darth Maul.
Luke is Romeo.
Paris is Obi-Wan (young).
Mercutio is Qui-Gon Gin.
Lord Montague is the Emporer.
Samson is Boba Fett.
Gregory is Han Solo.
Juliet is Padme.
Lady Capulet is Leia.
Benvolio is Jango Fett.
The Nurse is Jar-Jar. It only makes sense, as comedy relief and all.
Friar Laurence is Yoda.
All the servents are Storm Trooopers.
How's that sound for a start?
Imagine this scene:
Luke to Maul: Tybalt, I am your cousin!
Maul: Nooooooooooooo!
Luke cuts Maul in half and Maul falls down a reactor.
