That would be the one, she hasn’t said it that much, or even posted much for that matter. I take it she’s an old TPH person then?

Sorta, she's from some other forum that Drifter brought over to TPH, she romped around there a little, and mostly hangs around her own forum.

And MSN.

That's the dominant area of her influence.

LOL OFFTOPIC

Image Tsk tsk, people! *shot*

Henyways...... I'm reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galxay again. Awesome book.

I just got done reading the Republic, actually. It's interesting.

Right now, I'm reading Hobbes' Leviathan. Well, parts of it. Since its subject matter and explanations were fixed into the core of American legal and societal systems, the book seems more like a "Well, duh," instead of a "Oh, really?"

I am reading a book which is a compilation of all of Chekhov's short stories. I find he suprises me for a Russian! :wow: Very good.
I also can see your point of view, Mr. Worm. To me, I find books like Hobbes' necessary because I am unfamiliar with the American legal system. I want to start reading Marx, it seems as though most famous politicians at least skimmed through a few of his writings.
Also, would anybody care to tell me how business owners can use "The Art Of War" by Sun Tzu? I read it on the bus this morning, and haven't had a chance to read it again and draw conclusions, but it seems to be focused less on finding inner strengths and more on actual military tactics. I certainly would never live my life with the same outlook as a million year old general, I can hardly stand the current way marines are trained to think about America's necessity to have wars (I believe we should spend more money trying to avoid them then having them).
I enjoy a stabbing.

just finished the dune 'trilogy',
somehow they seem different to when i read them earlier...

and business owners can use art of war, by selling it. :p

its meant to be about how u deal with competitors, (i.e. know their stuff)
and how to deal with staff (kill one, and the rest will fall into line)

but i rekon its a little cut-throat and one must take a lot of salt to use it in business... but yeah, most of it is just 'common sense' stuff that seemed to have been lacking in the past.

Animal Farm.
Gag me.
It's a book based on the Russian Revolution, but OH! It's written by a british idiot! Looky looky, he's not Russian, nor did he experience the revolution.
GEE, all these effing British guys are writing about Russia.
They're dumb, the lot of them.
I'm Russian, I know stuff....and I don't even know about the revolution.
I bitched at my parents about this book, and they agree with me--It's a bunch of BS.
Please don't read books that are super biased, written by someone who's not part of the country they're writing about...
Read it from someone from the same damn country, at least.

Meh. It's a bit weird, since I actually like Orwell a lot as a writer, but I agree Animal Farm sucks pretty majorly. He's too damn cynical and biased. (Keep in mind, though, that it was written by a chronically ill English man in the middle of WWII... he's bound to have some prejudices)
